Exercise Classes Designed For You

Maintaining an adequate amount of lower- and upper-body strength is necessary for executing a variety of common tasks associated with physical independence.

These include: climbing stairs, walking distances, getting out of a chair (or the bathtub), standing up from the floor, lifting and lowering objects, carrying groceries and reducing risk for falls.

Regular muscle strengthening has been shown to help you manage blood pressure, blood sugar and blood cholesterol levels, as well as prevent and control heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Strength training can also help osteoarthritis, combat muscle degeneration and bone density loss.

Classes run for approximately 1 hour.

This class works on strengthening the body with the main focus being the core, glutes and hips.

Classes incorporate movement and strengthening along with a floor component.

This class uses bands and sliders for added variety to our strengthening. (you will need a mat and band kit for class – loop band, resistance band and slider – kits available for purchase, $12)

This class looks at improving your balance and increasing your mobility.

The main focus is opening up and strengthening your feet, increasing your mobility, strengthening your hips and glutes and building an awareness of your body in a barefoot environment.

By creating strength in your feet and having a better understanding of your body, it is the best tool for the prevention of falls. (You require a slider and massage ball for class – available for $5 each or please bring your own)

Taking off your shoes and strengthening the feet improves balance and control of the body. Adding on a full body strengthening component enhances this even more.

Combining TUT strengthening with barefoot is extremely beneficial for adding strength and improving your balance on a natural level. (You require a slider and massage ball for class – available for $5 each or please bring your own. Strengthening equipment is provided).
